The Same and Different
Find five or six pictures of different types of the same animal, such as a bird. Talk about the animals’ similarities and differences with your child. Then put the pictures into a container, like a box or plastic pail, and allow her to “dump and fill,” taking them all out and then starting over again. If you like, add a picture of a different animal, such as a cat, and see if you child can pick out the animal that does not belong with the others
